Giclee Fine Art Papers

I print on a variety of high quality Fine Art papers. I use papers from Hahnemühle, Bockingford, Canson, Fotospeed and Permajet. Different images or styles of artwork lend themselves to different papers. I have a variety of papers in stock for most photographic and watercolour prints. I have an extensive range of samples. All papers are profiled for accurate colour reproduction.

Colour Management

Accurate colour is crucial and I maintain a fully colour profiled environment from scanning, through to editing and printing. Every paper we print with is profiled to ensure the best results. Printing is archival quality using pigment inks which have outstanding longevity and colour reproduction on a range of high quality papers.

Professional Pigment Inks

The professional LUCIA pigment inks offer accurate colour reproduction and enhanced print longevity. Prints can last approx. 200 years in the photo album, 80-years on display behind glass (light fastness) and 50-years without the glass (gas fastness). The Canon Prograf 1000 utilises 12 inks.

Scanning and Colour Matching

I utilise a professional Epson flatbed A4 scanner which is part of my colour managed system. I always recommend obtaining Proofs before deciding on final prints. A proof is crucial in allowing you the opportunity to make any tweaks before final printing. I can scan your existing photographic prints or your personal artworks and produce a colour matched proof on papers of your choosing.

All proofs are printed on A4  paper. You can have the image printed on up to 3 different papers for comparison.  Images will be scaled or cropped accordingly.

 Image Scanning

I can also scan your photographic print, original artwork, watercolour, slide or negative and supply you with a High Resolution 'Print Ready' file.  Files are supplied, on disc, USB or provided for download from my servers. Many original artworks or prints larger than A4  can be 'section scanned' and then seamlessly joined in Adobe Photoshop. This is more time consuming but can offer better results than photographing artworks.
